Here are my thoughts regarding the books I read this October:

The Mysterious Benedict Society
by Trenton Lee Stewart
Genre: Fiction Mystery/Fantasy
Rating: 3.8/10
Thoughts: So I am somewhat embarrassed this is even on my list. I randomly saw this book at my mom's house (she collects all kinds of books) and I picked it up and read it, having no idea IT WAS A MIDDLE SCHOOL AGED BOOK. I should have known since all the characters were young but goodness gracious. Even if I was 11 again, I don't feel like I would have enjoyed this read. It was bizarre and I really didn't know what was happening in the story half the time. Really don't recommend it, especially if you're over the age of 13.

The Patient
by Jane Shemilt
Genre: Fiction Mystery/Thriller
Rating: 6.6/10
Thoughts: The thriller aspect was really there. It kept me on my toes and I didn't know what was coming next. The only issue I had with this book is the suspense wasn't worth the reveal. I thought the reveal was a tad weak. That being said, I do encourage this read as I did fly through it.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Genre: Fiction Romance/LGBT
Rating: 8.8/10
Thoughts: I loved it!! BookTok really hit the nail on the head with this one. It wasn't a 'I couldn't put it down (which is why it wasn't rated higher) but I loved the story!! It made me even reflect on my own life. And I loved the LBGT aspect and how it was discussed in the story. Hint alert: there is a great twist of an ending I wasn't expecting. 3 words: WORTH THE HYPE
